Regular Season Round 16: Oradea - U-Banca TR 68-80

Oradea (#4) was upset in Oradea by seventh ranked U-Banca TR 80-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Oradea. The game was mostly controlled by U-Banca TR. Oradea was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American guard Darius Hargrove (194-82, college: Virginia Union) who scored that evening 22 points and the other American import forward Sean Barnette (197-86, college: Wingate) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four U-Banca TR players scored in double figures. U-Banca TR's coach Dorin Pintea allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by Croatian forward Ante Krapic (204-85, agency: 011 Sports) did not help to save the game for Oradea. Serbian center Mladen Pantic (209-82, agency: Alti Sport) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. U-Banca TR (8-6) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with CSU Sibiu and BC Timisoara. Oradea at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Pitesti. U-Banca TR will play against Craiova (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Oradea will play against CSU Sibiu (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
