Bottom-ranked Galitos-Tley managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses. This time they outleveled tenth-ranked Illiabum in Barreiro 106-70. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 36-point difference suggests that Galitos-Tley is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game without a history. Galitos-Tley led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They were well out of reach of Illiabum shooting 73.1 percent from the field and made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Illiabum 35-20 including a 30-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Galitos-Tley shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Illiabum's players. The former international guard Miguel Minhava (195-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners and American forward Ben Gresmer (196-90, college: Wisc.-River Falls) chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Galitos-Tley players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Stephen Nwaukoni (203-91, college: Hofstra) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian swingman Bogdan Riznic (202-90) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Galitos-Tley (4-9) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Illiabum. Galitos-Tley will play against higher ranked CAB Madeira (#4) in Funchal in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Illiabum will play at home against the league's leader Benfica (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
