Very important is a road loss of second ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (11-6) against sixth ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (9-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Weissenhorn Youngstars were defeated by Dragons Rhoendorf in a tough game in Rhoendorf 61-68. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Weissenhorn Youngstars. The best player for the winners was American Theron Laudermill (202-89, college: CS San Bernar.) who scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Center Florian Wendeler (205-93) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Laudermill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. Dragons Rhoendorf's coach Boris Kaminski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Randal Holt (185-91, college: Kent St.) produced 26 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian guard Jordan Baker (201-91, college: Alberta) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Dragons Rhoendorf maintains sixth place in Group South with 9-8 record. Weissenhorn Youngstars at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf's next round opponent will be Saarlouis (#12) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Weissenhorn Youngstars will play against Licher Basket (#9) and hope to win that game.
