Second Stage Round 4: JAZZ-Diremta - Rasai 85-78

There was a minor upset in Kaunas where 4th ranked Rasai (13-16) was defeated by seventh ranked JAZZ-Diremta (5-24) 85-78 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-78. Center Vaidas Trepocka (200-80, agency: Court Side) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Arunas Sakalauskas (191-91) chipped in 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four JAZZ-Diremta players scored in double figures. JAZZ-Diremta's coach Rolandas Urkis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Karolis Guscikas (205-92) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and guard Giedrius Kurtinaitis (194-86) added 20 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. JAZZ-Diremta maintains seventh position with 5-24 record. Newly promoted Rasai keeps the fourth place with 16 games lost. JAZZ-Diremta will face higher ranked Vilniaus (#6) in Vilnius in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rasai will play at home against Palanga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
