Fourteenth-ranked Finke Baskets (6-13) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Hamburg (11-8) in Paderborn. The visitors from Hamburg managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Michael Wenzl (210-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Canadian swingman Terry Thomas (193-91) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Hamburg's coach Hamed Attarbashi allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Canadian point guard Ty Nurse (185-90, college: Texas Tech) answered with 17 points and 6 assists and American forward Morgan Grim (204-88, college: Utah St.) added 12 points and 7 assists in the effort for Finke Baskets. Four Finke Baskets players scored in double figures. Hamburg moved-up to sixth place, which they share with ETB Wohnbau. Finke Baskets lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Bayer Giants. Hamburg will play against Science City Jena (#8) at home in the next round. Finke Baskets will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#5) and hope to get back on the winning track.
