There was a surprise result in Tuebingen where sixteenth ranked Walter Tigers (6-13) beat higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (8-11) 83-76 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But EnBW Ludwigsburg won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Walter Tigers made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. EnBW Ludwigsburg was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Jimmy McKinney (192-83, college: Missouri) fired 19 points for the winners. Forward Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Swingman D.J. Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) produced 31 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. EnBW Ludwigsburg's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Walter Tigers maintains sixteenth place with 6-13 record. Loser EnBW Ludwigsburg dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Walter Tigers will face higher ranked Braunschweig (#9) in Braunschweig in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
