Regular Season Round 13: Guifoes - Electrico FC 68-65

The most exciting game of round 13 in the Proliga took place in Guifoes. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Electrico FC (9-2) to eleventh ranked Guifoes (3-8) 68-65 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Electrico FC. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-65. Guifoes dominated on the defensive end, holding Electrico FC to just 6 points in second quarter. Forward Fabio Fernandes (201-86) fired 15 points for the winners. Forward Ricardo Pinto (189-82) chipped in 9 points and 6 assists. Guifoes' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Aylton Medeiros (194-88) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and guard Tiago Pinto (183-88) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Guifoes moved-up to tenth place. Electrico FC at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Guifoes are looking forward to face higher ranked Benfica B (#7) in Lisboa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Electrico FC will play at home against Atletico (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
