Very expected game when 12th ranked Trier (1-13) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (9-5) 79-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-68. ASC Theresianum Mainz forced 20 Trier turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Maria Neufurth (173-88) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Czech guard Karolina Jandova (181-91) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Guard Jana Genttner (173-94) responded with 19 points and forward Leonie Edringer (182-95) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Trier's coach Michael Edringer rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. ASC Theresianum Mainz moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Speyer. Trier lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. ASC Theresianum Mainz will face higher ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Trier will play against the league's second-placed Don Bosco Bamberg (#2) and hope to win that game.
