Regular Season Round 17: Wuerzburg - Saarlouis 95-77

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Saarlouis (3-13) lost on the road to third ranked Wuerzburg (11-5) 95-77 on Sunday. Wuerzburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Saarlouis were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Guard Donovan Morris (191-84, college: Long Beach St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Wuerzburg players scored in double figures. Wuerzburg's coach Soren Zimmermann used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) answered with 32 points and 8 rebounds and Karl Moore (203-87, college: Culver Stockton) added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Saarlouis. Wuerzburg moved-up to second place in Group South. Saarlouis lost their third game in a row. Saarlouis at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Wuerzburg will face Speyer (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saarlouis will play against Dragons Rhoendorf and hope to win that game.
