Second Stage Round 2: Suzirja - Interkhim 47-69

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Suzirja (0-1) in Rivne. Hosts were rolled over by Interkhim (1-0) 69-47. The game was mostly controlled by Interkhim. Suzirja was better in fourth quarter 10-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Suzirja to just 4 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. Interkhim held Suzirja to an opponent 23.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.3 percent accuracy of the winners and made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Interkhim outrebounded Suzirja 53-35 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Olga Borisenko (185-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 9 rebounds. Center Diana Matvyeyeva (197-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Guard Elena Bondar (165-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Yana Holubosh (179-96) added 10 points in the effort for Suzirja. Suzirja's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Interkhim will play against Frankivsk in Ivano-Frankivsk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Suzirja will play at home against Dynamo-NPU to get more than just one victory in their record.
