Regular Season Round 14: Gruenberg - Osnabruck 65-61

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Osnabruck (11-3) in Gruenberg on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked Baskets Grunberg (6-8) 65-61. Osnabruck was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 16-10 charge of Baskets Grunberg, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Laura Steuber (177-90) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Natascha Heuser (178-82) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. Canadian swingman Emma Duinker (182-89) responded with 15 points and American point guard Angela Pace (178-87, college: Robert Morris) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Baskets Grunberg have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with Barmer TV and Hannover. Osnabruck at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Baskets Grunberg is looking forward to face higher ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Osnabruck will play against the league's second-placed Veilchen and will have a slim chance for a victory.
