The game in Alytus was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Neptunas (20-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Dzukija (12-11). Neptunas managed to secure a 6-point victory 72-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Dzukija. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-17. But Dzukija won second period 14-6. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Neptunas won last quarter 26-22. They made 29-of-30 charity shots (96.7 percent) during the game, while Dzukija only scored eight points from the stripe. 27 personal fouls committed by Dzukija helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Power forward Simas Galdikas (204-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) contributed with 16 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Guard Paulius Dambrauskas (192-85) replied with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Polish center Adam Lapeta (217-87, agency: Alti Sport) added 14 points in the effort for Dzukija. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Neptunas maintains second position with 20-3 record having just two points less than leader Zalgiris. Dzukija at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. Neptunas' next round opponent will be Lietkabelis (#8) in Panevezys where they are favorite. Dzukija will play on the road against the league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas and hope to win that game.
