Regular Season Round 16: Fener.Ulker - Turk Telekom 86-82
Date: January 25, 2015
Very expected game in Istanbul where 9th ranked Turk Telekom (7-9) was defeated by third ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (12-4) 86-82 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 24-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Fenerbahce Ulker outrebounded Turk Telekom 33-21 including 23 on the defensive glass. Turk Telekom was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian Nemanja Bjelica (209-88, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and international Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) who added 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Fenerbahce Ulker's coach Zeljko Obradovic used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Josh Carter (200-88, college: Texas A&M) responded with 23 points and 6 assists and Latvian point guard Kristaps Valters (190-81) scored 13 points. Five Fenerbahce Ulker and four Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Darussafaka. Loser Turk Telekom keeps the ninth place with nine games lost. Fenerbahce Ulker will face Royal Hali (#11) in Gaziantep in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Turk Telekom will play at home against Besiktas and hope to win that game.
