Regular Season Round 20: Aistes-LSU - Suduva 54-68

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kaunas. Second ranked Suduva faced one of their biggest challengers Aistes-LSU. Guests from Marijampole (14-6) defeated host Aistes-LSU (11-8) 68-54. The game was mostly controlled by Suduva. Aistes-LSU managed to win second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Suduva forced 19 Aistes-LSU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Iveta Salkauske (197-82, college: Illinois) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Santa Okockyte (175-92) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. International power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) produced 9 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and Monika Petrauskaite (182-92) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Suduva maintains second position with 14-6 record having six points less than leader Utena. Aistes-LSU at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Suduva are looking forward to face league's leader Utena at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aistes-LSU will play against Fortuna in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
