Regular Season Round 19: SISU - Svendborg 81-75

An interesting game was played in Copenhagen where host SISU (#7) won against 4th placed Svendborg 81-75 on Thursday evening. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 25-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. SISU outrebounded Svendborg 33-19 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Darryl Partin (198-87, college: Boston U.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Montenegrin center Zivojin Grubovic (207-85) helped adding 12 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). At the losing side American point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) responded with 12 points and Dutch swingman Chaed Wellian (203-92, college: Tennessee St., agency: R.H.Consultancy) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SISU (9-11) moved-up to sixth place. Loser Svendborg keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. SISU will meet higher ranked Naestved (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Svendborg will play against the league's leader Bakken in Aarhus and hope to secure a win.
