Regular Season Round 20: Ludwigsburg - TBB Trier 74-69

No shocking result in a game when thirteenth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (9-11) beat at home 15th ranked TBB Trier (7-13) 74-69. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-15. But TBB Trier won second period 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when EnBW Ludwigsburg won last quarter 16-12. They made 27-of-32 charity shots (84.4 percent) during the game. TBB Trier was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman D.J. Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import point guard John Little (182-84, college: N.Iowa) who added 13 points during the contest. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Serbian Marko Lukovic (207-92, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Ricky Harris (187-87, college: Massachusetts) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Fraport SKY. TBB Trier at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against higher ranked EWE Baskets (#6) in Oldenburg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TBB Trier will play at home against Crailsheim Merlins (#18) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
