Regular Season Round 20: Telekom Bsk - MBC 96-66

Date: January 31, 2015
There was no surprise when 14th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (7-12) was outleveled by sixth ranked Telekom Baskets (12-8) in Bonn 96-66. The game without a history. Telekom Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Mitteldeutscher BC's 28 and made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 37-23 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Telekom Baskets players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Djordje Pantelic (204-84) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and American guard Frantz Massenat (193-92, college: Drexel) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Telekom Baskets moved-up to fifth place. Mitteldeutscher BC lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Telekom Baskets will play against Artland Dragons (#8) in Quakenbrueck in the next round. Mitteldeutscher BC will play at home against Braunschweig (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
