Regular Season Round 21: Targu Mures - Timisoara 55-83

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Timisoara (10-10) smashed on the road 10th ranked Targu Mures (7-14) 83-55. The game without a history. Timisoara led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Targu Mures' 36. They outrebounded Targu Mures 44-26 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Timisoara players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Targu Mures' players. It was a good game for Serbian Biljana Pesovic (180-83) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian power forward Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Timisoara players scored in double figures. American forward Vee Young (185, college: Martin Methodist, agency: Gamble Sports Management) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Antoinette Thompson (170-90, college: TCU) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Targu Mures. Targu Mures' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Timisoara maintains eighth place with 10-10 record. Targu Mures at the other side keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Timisoara will play against Craiova (#12) in Craiova in the next round. Targu Mures will play at home against ICIM Arad and hope to get back on the winning track.
