Regular Season Round 18: Rist Wedel - Leipzig 92-65

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked SC Rist Wedel (11-8) outscored at home 9th ranked USC Leipzig (8-10) 92-65. SC Rist Wedel dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to USC Leipzig's 36. SC Rist Wedel forced 19 USC Leipzig turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 assists and 4 steals. The other American import forward Denzell Erves (202-91, college: Xavier, LA) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. SC Rist Wedel's coach Michael Claxton felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Khalil Kelley (203-91, college: Pacific) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and center Marian Schick (204-86) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for USC Leipzig. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to second place in Group North. USC Leipzig at the other side dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. SC Rist Wedel's next round opponent will be Recklinghausen (#4) on the road. USC Leipzig will play against RSV Eintracht (#12) in Stahnsdorf and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
