Regular Season Round 20: ETB Wohnbau - Giessen 46ers 77-65

There was a surprise result when seventh ranked ETB Wohnbau (12-8) beat second-ranked Giessen 46ers (14-6) in Essen 77-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by ETB Wohnbau. Giessen 46ers was better in second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Forward Devin White (203-88, college: SUNO) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) contributed with 10 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four ETB Wohnbau players scored in double figures. Guard Eric Palm (188-87, college: McKendree, agency: I.D.S. Law) replied with 20 points and point guard Cameron Wells (186-88, college: Citadel) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Giessen 46ers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ETB Wohnbau moved-up to sixth place. Giessen 46ers at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. ETB Wohnbau will face higher ranked Nuernberg (#3) in Nurnberg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Giessen 46ers will play at home against Bayer Giants and hope to win that game.
