Regular Season Round 18: Schwelm - Iserlohn 93-96

Fifth-ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (9-8) gave a tough game to first ranked Iserlohn (15-2) on Saturday. The visitors from Iserlohn managed to secure only three-point victory 96-93. However their fans expected much easier game. Iserlohn made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. 29 personal fouls committed by SG Schwelmer Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. British forward Orlan Jackman (201-88, college: Oklahoma City) scored 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Thomas Reuter (198-92, college: E.Washington) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Iserlohn's coach Matthias Grothe used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Canadian swingman Chris Johnson (196-88, college: St.Bonaventure) with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Jody Johnson (193-88, college: Cent.Washington) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Iserlohn have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Iserlohn maintains first position in Group South with 15-2 record. SG Schwelmer Baskets at the other side dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Iserlohn are looking forward to face Fraport Skyliners II (#8) in Frankfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play on the road against White Wings (#7) in Hanau and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
