Second Stage Round 6: Delikatesas - Vilniaus 78-80

Important game to mention about took place in Joniskis. Sixth ranked Vilniaus (9-20) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Delikatesas (15-16) 80-78 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Delikatesas took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vilniaus had a 25-17 second period charge getting the lead and Delikatesas was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-80. American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) notched 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Lukas Kvedaravicius (205-97) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Vilniaus players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 7 assists by guard Sarunas Kulevicius (191-89) did not help to save the game for Delikatesas. Forward Aivaras Galkauskas (203-91) added 17 points. Vilniaus have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Vilniaus maintains sixth position with 9-20 record. Delikatesas at the other side keeps the third place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Zanavykas. Vilniaus will play against league's leader Palanga at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Delikatesas will play against JAZZ-Diremta in Kaunas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
