Regular Season Round 27: Mazeikiai - Nevezis 76-75

Mazeikiai can celebrate finally their first win this season after 23 consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Nevezis (3-21) 76-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 21-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Darius Pakamanis (192-81) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Four Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Rod Camphor (191-92, college: SW Oklahoma St.) with 22 points and the other American import guard Markus Monroe (188-89, college: Wayland Baptist) scored 17 points. Newly promoted Mazeikiai maintains eleventh place with 1-23 record. It was Nevezis' seventh loss in a row. They keep the tenth position with 21 games lost. Mazeikiai will meet at home higher ranked Juventus (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play against Dzukija (#6) and hope to secure a win.
