Regular Season Round 15: Lichterfelde - Zehlendorf 110-69

Bottom-ranked Zehlendorf (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 110-69 loss to seventh ranked Lichterfelde (8-7) in Lichterfelde. The game without a history. Lichterfelde led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Zehlendorf's 38 and made 28-of-36 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Lichterfelde forced 22 Zehlendorf turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Zehlendorf helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Satou Sabally (189-98) who led the winners and scored 31 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Lena Gohlisch (173-93) accounted for 22 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Four Lichterfelde players scored in double figures. Latvian forward Liene Jekabsone (185-88, college: FIU) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Patricia Brossmann (181-97) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Zehlendorf in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lichterfelde moved-up to sixth place in North. Newly promoted Zehlendorf still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Lichterfelde's next round opponent will be Baskets Grunberg (#10) in Gruenberg. Zehlendorf will play at home against SG BBZ Opladen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
