Regular Season Round 20: Brose Bask. - EWE Baskets 89-82

Very expected game when 6th ranked EWE Baskets (11-8) lost to second ranked Brose Baskets (17-3) in Bamberg 82-89. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-16. But EWE Baskets won second period 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. EWE Baskets were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) who added 18 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) scored 22 points. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brose Baskets have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-3 record having just two points less than leader ALBA. EWE Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Brose Baskets will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. EWE Baskets will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#10) and hope to get back on the winning track.
