The game with biggest result difference took place in Klaipeda. Local Neptunas (21-3) outscored 8th ranked Lietkabelis (8-17) 102-76 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.1 percent from the field. Neptunas outrebounded Lietkabelis 33-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 64.3 percentage. Neptunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Mustafa Shakur (192-84, college: Arizona) who scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian center Jurica Zuza (208-78, agency: Alti Sport) who recorded 18 points and naturalized Canadian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) added 13 points and 4 steals respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Neptunas. They maintain second place with 21-3 record having just two points less than leader Zalgiris. Lietkabelis lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 17 games lost. Neptunas will face P.Zvaigzdes (#5) in Pasvalys in the next round. Lietkabelis will play on the road against Nevezis in Kedainiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
