Regular Season Round 16: Wasserburg - Donau-Ries 87-76

Rather expected game when 4th ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (10-6) were defeated on the road by top-ranked TSV 1880 Wasserburg (16-0) 87-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by TSV 1880 Wasserburg. TH Wohnbau Angels was better in third quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TSV 1880 Wasserburg made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. TSV 1880 Wasserburg outrebounded TH Wohnbau Angels 39-24 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Sheylani Peddy (170-88, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 steals and Australian-Italian guard Nicole Romeo (168-89, college: Washington, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who added 17 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four TSV 1880 Wasserburg players scored in double figures. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's coach Bastian Wernthaler used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Canadian power forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (188-91, college: Simon Fraser) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have an impressive 16-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-0 record. TH Wohnbau Angels at the other side keep the fourth place with six games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will face Eisvogel Freiburg (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against Fireballs and hope to win that game.
