Regular Season Round 16: Halle - Oberhausen 72-71
Date: February 1, 2015
Rather predictable result when sixth ranked SV Halle Lions (9-8) edged at home 10th ranked Oberhausen (4-12) 72-71 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Oberhausen was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 19-15 charge of SV Halle Lions, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Oberhausen turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jasmine James (175-91, college: Georgia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import swingman Tiffany Porter-Talbert (177-84, college: W.Kentucky) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Lea Mersch (170-87) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Four Oberhausen players scored in double figures. SV Halle Lions maintains sixth position with 9-8 record. Oberhausen lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. SV Halle Lions will face ChemCats Chemnitz (#9) on the road in the next round. Oberhausen will play against Rhein Main Baskets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
