Liga Nationala top team - Steaua CSM (14-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked BC Timisoara (10-7) in Bucuresti 81-68. BC Timisoara was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 48-30 second half run of Steaua CSM. They outrebounded BC Timisoara 43-21 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international Titus Nicoara (202-88, agency: Interperformances) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian guard Pankracije Barac (196-81, agency: Court Side) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Radenko Pilcevic (188-86) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 assists and 4 steals and American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four BC Timisoara players scored in double figures. Steaua CSM maintains first position with 14-2 record. BC Timisoara at the other side dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Oradea and Pitesti. Steaua CSM will play against CSU Sibiu (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Timisoara will play against Craiova (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
