Second Stage Round 1: Lemvig - Amager 65-89

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Lemvig (0-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by Amager (1-0) 89-65. The game was mostly controlled by Amager. Lemvig managed to win second period 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Lemvig's 28. Amager forced 22 Lemvig turnovers and outrebounded them 41-26 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Lemvig's players. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). American forward Lauren Gregory (185-87, college: Vanguard) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Emily White (186-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Joanna Miller (173-91, college: Grambling St.) added 19 points and 5 assists in the effort for Lemvig. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Amager is looking forward to face Horsholm at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lemvig will play against Stevnsgade and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
