Regular Season Round 23: Gmunden - Gussing 84-96

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Gmunden. Third ranked Gussing Knights faced second-ranked Gmunden Swans. Guests from Gussing (15-8) defeated host Gmunden Swans (16-7) 96-84. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. Gussing Knights looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Gmunden Swans helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St.) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Four Gussing Knights players scored in double figures. International forward Enis Murati (194-88) produced 30 points and 8 assists and American forward Tyler Griffey (206-90, college: Illinois, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Defending champion maintains third place with 15-8 record having just three points less than leader Zepter Vienna. Gmunden Swans at the other side keep the second position with seven games lost. Gussing Knights are looking forward to face Furstenfeld Panthers (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gmunden Swans will play against the league's leader Zepter Vienna (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
