Second Stage Round 7: Nafta-Uni. - Perlas-MRU 99-82

Top ranked Perlas-MRU (24-7) recorded its seventh loss in Klaipeda. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Nafta-Uni. (17-14) 99-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. The game was mostly controlled by Nafta-Uni.. Perlas-MRU was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Nafta-Uni. players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Ignas Vaitkus (196-93) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Antanas Udras (203-92) answered with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) added 18 points and 7 assists in the effort for Perlas-MRU. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nafta-Uni. moved-up to fifth place. Perlas-MRU at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Nafta-Uni. will again play against league's leader Perlas-MRU in Vilnius in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Perlas-MRU will have a break next round.
