Regular Season Round 17: Cherno More - Spartak Pleven 89-63

Bottom-ranked Spartak Pleven is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 15th consecutive match to fifth ranked Cherno More (9-6) 89-63. The game without a history. Cherno More led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 36. They outrebounded Spartak Pleven 46-29 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cherno More players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Spartak Pleven's players. American forward Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) stepped up and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and Serbian power forward Miljan Pupovic (210-83) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cherno More players scored in double figures. Cherno More's coach Dragan Bajic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Krum Doychinov (206-86, agency: Interperformances) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Milen Zahariev (190-92) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Cherno More maintains fifth place with 9-6 record. Spartak Pleven at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Cherno More will play against league's leader Lukoil Acad. in Sofia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Pleven will play at home against Yambol (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
