Regular Season Round 17: Chernomorets - Lukoil Acad. 51-96

NBL top team - Lukoil Acad. (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Chernomorets (2-13) in Burgas 96-51. The game without a history. Lukoil Acad. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Chernomorets' players. American point guard Dee Brown (185-84, college: Illinois) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 assists. His fellow American import point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) contributed with 18 points and 7 assists for the winners. Five Lukoil Acad. players scored in double figures. Serbian center Dejan Bjelic (209-90) answered with 9 points and 14 rebounds and forward Lyuben Paskov (197-90) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chernomorets. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lukoil Acad. maintains first place with 14-1 record. Chernomorets at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Lukoil Acad. are looking forward to face Cherno More (#5) in Varna in the next round. Chernomorets will play on the road against Beroe in Stara Zagora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
