Regular Season Round 21: Jena - Chemnitz 94-74

Eighth ranked Science City Jena (11-10) crushed at home 12th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (8-13) by 20 points 94-74, which is the biggest margin this round. It looked good early as BV Chemnitz 99 took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Science City Jena had a 27-25 second period charge getting the lead and BV Chemnitz 99 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-94. They outrebounded BV Chemnitz 99 39-26 including a 39-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for point guard David Hicks (183-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Brady Morningstar (190-86, college: Kansas, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. point guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana, agency: Court Side) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and guard Stacy Wilson (190-90, college: Murray St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for BV Chemnitz 99. Five Science City Jena and four BV Chemnitz 99 players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Science City Jena maintains eighth place with 11-10 record. BV Chemnitz 99 at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Science City Jena's next round opponent will be higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#16) in Allmendingen and hope to win that game.
