Regular Season Round 19: Saarlouis - Speyer 92-91

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Saarlouis (4-14) edged at home 11th ranked Speyer (5-13) 92-91 on Saturday. Saarlouis dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Speyer's 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Speyer's players. American guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. His fellow American import Karl Moore (203-87, college: Culver Stockton) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Saarlouis' coach Chris Cummings used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Marcus Smallwood (200-82, college: N.Illinois, agency: R.H.Consultancy) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Sebastian Heck (198-95, agency: Blacktop Management) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Speyer players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Saarlouis maintains twelfth place in Group South with 4-14 record. Loser Speyer keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Saarlouis will face higher ranked BG Karlsruhe (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
