Regular Season Round 21: Giessen 46ers - Bayer Giants 79-69
Date: February 8, 2015
Very predictable result when third ranked Giessen 46ers (15-6) defeated at home 14th ranked Bayer Giants (6-15) 79-69. After very bad start, Bayer Giants stormed back in the second period cutting the deficit to 2 points 37-35. But it was not enough and Giessen 46ers took back the control in second half. It was a good game for naturalized American guard T.J. DiLeo (190-90, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 7 assists. American guard Eric Palm (188-87, college: McKendree, agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Giessen 46ers' coach Denis Wucherer allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Richard Carter (180-92, college: Drake) answered with 26 points and 7 assists and Goetz Twiehoff (198-85) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Bayer Giants. Giessen 46ers moved-up to second place, which they share with Nuernberg. Bayer Giants lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Giessen 46ers' next round opponent will be league's leader s Oliver Baskets in Wuerzburg and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bayer Giants will play at home against SC Rasta Vechta (#10) and hope to win that game.
