The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Zepter Vienna (18-6) on the court of second ranked Gmunden Swans on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Gmunden Swans 87-83. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Zepter Vienna. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 31-24. But Zepter Vienna won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Five Gmunden Swans and four Zepter Vienna players scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans maintains second position with 17-7 record behind leader Zepter Vienna. Zepter Vienna at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. Gmunden Swans are looking forward to face Dukes (#6) in Klosterneuburg in the next round. Zepter Vienna will play at home against Gussing Knights (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
