Another interesting game for Friendsfactory Germering (6-10) which played in Langen against 7th ranked Rhein MB II (5-11). Eighth ranked Friendsfactory Germering won 74-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rhein MB II. It looked good early as Rhein MB II took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Friendsfactory Germering had a 20-8 second period charge getting the lead and Rhein MB II was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-74. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Magdalena von Geyr (180-84) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Nicole Schmidt (168-89) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Alexandra Chili (183-90, college: Muhlenberg) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Mara Greunke (186-91) scored 7 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Friendsfactory Germering have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Weiterstadt. Rhein MB II at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Friendsfactory Germering will play against Weiterstadt (#8) at home in the next round. Rhein MB II will play against Muenchen B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
