Regular Season Round 16: Hannover - Osnabruck 74-86

Date: February 8, 2015
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Osnabruck (12-4) beat on the road 7th ranked Hannover (7-9) 86-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Osnabruck. Hannover was better in second period 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osnabruck dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Hannover's 24. It was a great shooting night for Osnabruck especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. It was a very good performance for American point guard Angela Pace (178-87, college: Robert Morris) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals. Guard Melina Knopp (171-94) contributed with 29 points for the winners. Forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Rayven Johnson (176-91, college: NJIT) added 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Hannover. Hannover's coach Rodger Battersby rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Osnabruck keeps a position of North leader, which they share with Veilchen. Loser Hannover dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Osnabruck will face Barmer TV (#7) in Wuppertal in the next round where they are favorite. Hannover will play on the road against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel and hope to win that game.
