Very important is a road loss of third ranked Darussafaka (12-6) against ninth ranked Turk Telekom (9-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Darussafaka was edged by Turk Telekom in a tough game in Ankara 81-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Darussafaka won fourth quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Turk Telekom shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. American forward Josh Carter (200-88, college: Texas A&M) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Slovenian center Gasper Vidmar (211-87) with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Taylor Brown (198-89, college: Bradley, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Turk Telekom moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Darussafaka keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Karsiyaka. Turk Telekom will play against Royal Hali (#12) in Gaziantep in the next round. Darussafaka will play at home against Usak (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
