There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Sangalhos (5-9) crushed at home 7th ranked Esgueira / Oli (5-9) 82-62. The game without a history. Sangalhos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Esgueira / Oli's 28. Sangalhos had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Esgueira / Oli's players. The best player for the winners was Diogo Simoes who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Andre Duarte (178-81) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Sangalhos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Antonio Gaioso (188-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and Andre Occhialini added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Esgueira / Oli's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sangalhos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Esgueira. Sangalhos' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Electrico FC in Ponte de Sor and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
