Regular Season Round 24: Satu Mare - Sf.Gheorghe 43-84

Liga Nationala top team - Sf.Gheorghe (22-2) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Satu Mare (9-15) 84-43. The game without a history. Sf.Gheorghe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Satu Mare's 34. Sf.Gheorghe forced 21 Satu Mare turnovers. It was a good game for American power forward Stefanie Murphy (192-89, college: Boston Coll.) who led her team to a victory with 14 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import guard Taneisha Harrison (182-89, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Sf.Gheorghe players scored in double figures. Sf.Gheorghe's coach Zoran Mikes felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Kelsey Simon (188-92, college: Miami, OH) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Flavia Ferenczi (175-91) added 12 points in the effort for Satu Mare. Sf.Gheorghe have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-2 record. Satu Mare at the other side keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. Sf.Gheorghe are looking forward to face league's second-placed CSM Targoviste at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Satu Mare will play against Rapid (#14) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
