Regular Season Round 24: Timisoara - Brasov 78-70

The game in Timisoara was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Brasov (14-10) played at the court of eighth ranked Timisoara (13-10). Timisoara managed to secure a 8-point victory 78-70. It looked good early as Brasov took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Timisoara had a 26-15 second period charge getting the lead and Brasov was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-78. Timisoara players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian Biljana Pesovic (180-83) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian point guard Natasa Krnjetina (180-88) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Carla Bartee (182-85, college: Mississippi) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Britney Jones (172-87, college: UAB) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Timisoara have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Brasov at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Timisoara will play against Cluj Napoca (#11) on the road in the next round. Brasov will play against ICIM Arad (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
