Regular Season Round 20: Dragons - Fraport SKY II 119-65

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Fraport Skyliners II (9-10) was outscored on the road by fourth ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (11-8) 119-65 on Saturday. Dragons Rhoendorf dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Fraport Skyliners II's 26. Dragons Rhoendorf looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Fraport Skyliners II's players. Fraport Skyliners II was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). The other American import Theron Laudermill (202-89, college: CS San Bernar.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Laudermill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. American guard Andrew Bock (185, college: Pacific) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian point guard Kyle Fossman (183-91, college: Alaska-Anch.) added 15 points in the effort for Fraport Skyliners II. Dragons Rhoendorf have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group South, which they share with Hanau and Wuerzburg. Loser Fraport Skyliners II keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf will face TV Langen (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Fraport Skyliners II will play against BG Karlsruhe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
