Regular Season Round 22: Telekom Bsk - Goettingen 66-65

Eleventh-ranked BG Goettingen (10-12) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Telekom Baskets (14-8) in Bonn on Saturday. Telekom Baskets managed to secure only one-point victory 66-65. However their fans expected much easier game. Telekom Baskets outrebounded BG Goettingen 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by BG Goettingen's players. American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Khalid El-Amin (178-79, college: Connecticut) responded with 21 points and his fellow American import power forward Harper Kamp (203-88, college: California) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. BG Goettingen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Telekom Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser BG Goettingen dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Ludwigsburg. Telekom Baskets will meet TBB Trier (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. BG Goettingen will play against Walter Tigers (#15) and hope to secure a win.
