No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked BasCats Heidelberg (12-5) won against on the road 12th ranked Trier (1-16) 71-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BasCats Heidelberg. Trier was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Trier 49-30 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Anna Meusel (178-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Leonie Edringer (182-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Jana Genttner (173-94) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. BasCats Heidelberg moved-up to third place in South, which they share with Wuerzburg. Trier lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. BasCats Heidelberg will face Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Trier will play against Rhein MB II (#9) in Langen and hope to win that game.
