The game in Kayseri was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Balikesir (13-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Meliksah (12-8). Meliksah managed to secure a 7-point victory 77-70 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. The best player for the winners was American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Tufan Findikli (200-92) chipped in 14 points. Four Meliksah players scored in double figures. American guard Aubrey Coleman (193-87, college: Houston) produced 27 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Meliksah have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Meliksah maintains sixth position with 12-8 record. Loser Balikesir dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Meliksah will meet Afyon (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Balikesir will play against Pertevniyal (#16) and hope to secure a win.
