Rather expected game when 18th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (3-19) were defeated at home by sixteenth ranked Walter Tigers (7-15) 85-72 on Saturday. American forward Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. The other American import guard Michael Cuffee (195-83, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Walter Tigers' coach Igor Perovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American swingman Sean Mosley (192-89, college: Maryland) produced 21 points and 6 assists and naturalized American forward Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Walter Tigers moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with TBB Trier. Loser Crailsheim Merlins stay dead last with 19 lost games. Walter Tigers will face higher ranked BG Goettingen (#11) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#12) in Weissenfels and hope to win that game.
