Very expected game in Kyiv where 9th ranked Hoverla (6-15) was crushed by second ranked Budivelnyk (20-3) 86-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. Hoverla was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Budivelnyk looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (215-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Oleksandr Lypovyy (200-91, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Budivelnyk. Defending champion maintains second place with 20-3 record having just three points less than leader Khimik. Hoverla lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Budivelnyk will face DniproAzot (#10) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hoverla will play at home against BC Odessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
